"News Notes"

I've been thinking about the new name of the blog since my last post and finally came up with "News Notes." I was going to call the blog "N's (insert my son's name) Notes," but am leery of having my son's name on the blog. Calling it News Notes also leaves "the door open" for me to write about any future children we may have too. If the blog is called "N(insert son's name again) Notes", I would feel as though I could only write about him on these pages and I would feel obligated to start another blog for any future munchkins. That would just be too much for me. I like to keep things as simple as possible, so News Notes it is.

I cannot claim the creation of the name, however. I was a Corporate Designer before becoming a stay at home mom (SAHM). Each week we were supposed to open up the News Notes file in our company's shared network of files and write a summary about each project we were working on. The idea is that the news notes file was available for our Supervisor and our Manager to read as it fit into their schedules. This way they were aware of what we were working on at all times and when the Manager went to the monthly company meeting he/she knew what was going on and could report that to the president of the company as needed.

The concept of a blog reminds me of the News Notes we filled out at work because the person blogging can access his/her blog and make an entry at their leisure and the people reading the entries can read them whenever they want.It's a great way for people who are on different schedules or who live in different time zones to keep in touch.

Please note: The blog's address will remain the same. I'm not really sure how to change the address without creating a new blog, so I am going to stick with newhometobe.blogspot.com.

New Look

In honor of the new year I have changed the background to the blog. I have been trying to figure out how to do this for months and finally got it to work. Yay! I am also brainstorming a new cutesy name for the blog other than "Our New Home." Originally I created the blog to allow our family and friends who live overseas to follow the construction of our house but now that the house is built the main content of the blog will change from construction related information to the notable events of our lives. I'd like to come up with something creative and reflective of our family without using our name(s).. So, stay tuned. I'll come up with something.

I also plan on posting some pictures and text about our holidays. We had SUCH a great holiday! N and I really enjoyed having Daddy at home. I got spoiled rotten while D was home because he was soooo helpful in taking care of N. I think D got up with N almost every morning to fix him breakfast. I got to sleep in A lot and I greatly appreciate it!! D was wonderful to have around because he played trains, tea party (or lemonade party as N calls it), trucks, farm, and grocery store with N daily. D and I got into a really good routine of taking turns taking care of N while the other parent got time alone to do something on their to do list. Tomorrow will be a big adjustment for N and I because D goes back to work. It may take us all a few days to get back in the groove.
