Friday funny: Bad Dream

This morning N woke up and ran to the door to his room and yelled for me. "Mommy, Mommy. I had a bad dream. Could you come here?" That really got my attention so I went upstairs right away. "Did you have a bad dream? What was it about?"

N: "I turned into a girl!" (or "goorl" as he says)
Me: "You did? Then what happened?"
N: "I had princess pants and danced with all the goorls"
Me: Well that sounds like fun. Was it scarey?
N: YES!! But I turned back to a boy and I'm okay now." Then he hugged me like he was sooo glad it was over!

Quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!

I've learned a lot in the past four months and one of them is that it is sooo much harder to keep up with everything (mainly the house) when you have two children!!! I found this poem a long time ago and read it from time to time to remind myself of the important things.

Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.

Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo

The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullabye, rockaby lullabye loo.

The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
But children grow up as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Funny Things Friday: January 8th

N was picking out a book to read before bed the other night. He picked up the book "This is the Stable" and said, "Let's read this book about the baby in the nest." While we were reading I did see how a child would think the illustrations of baby Jesus laying in a bed of hay looks like a nest.

N was naughty while we were playing with some kids the other day and was given a time out. Later that day we talked about what happened and he said " I was bad so I had to have a time out cause it was my fault."

I woke up in the middle of the night last night and I was wearing my glasses..wearing my glasses while I was sleeping! I know I took them off when I went to bed. Not sure when I put them back on!

Good Things Come in 3's

This is an observation N and I made this morning at breakfast... Daddy's 33rd birthday is coming up soon, N is 3 years old and L is 3 months old... I emailed our observation to D and his reply was..."And you are 30 and 3/4. Maybe we need to go to the boat and put it all on #3"......We couldn't have planned it better if we tried.

Donate for Dax

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Dax Locke who recently lost his fight with Cancer. (Below is a link to an article written about him. ) His visitation was yesterday and his funeral is today. May God give Dax's parents strength and guidance in the days to come.
